Submissions: The Administrative Law Review (ALR), published in conjunction with the American Bar Association’s Section of Administrative Law and Regulatory Practice, is a forum for commentary on relevant and impactful developments to the field of administrative law.
ALR welcomes the submission of original articles, book reviews, and case studies. Manuscripts should be double-spaced and in Times New Roman font. We require footnotes (rather than endnotes) and conformity to The Bluebook: A Uniform System of Citation (21st Edition).
Article Submissions Guidelines: Submissions are accepted either electronically (preferred) or by mail. Manuscripts should be accompanied by a CV and a cover letter or abstract. We strongly prefer article submissions of 25,000 words or less (including footnotes). Authors may submit electronically through Scholastica or directly by email to alr.eic@wcl.american.edu. Hard copy submissions may be mailed to:

Recent Developments: ALR is accepting submissions for publication in the Recent Developments section and ALR Accord. Papers should report on and discuss new, compelling changes or events in administrative law and regulatory practices. Topics may encompass recent events, decisions, or emerging trends that carry the potential to change the practice of administrative law.
Both the Recent Developments section and ALR Accord aim to update our readership on the latest changes among different facets of administrative law and spur meaningful discussions within the field by publishing engaging and topical pieces.
